Proton slashes 25% off Satria Neo …. in UK

Proton knocks off 25 per cent – Perthshire Advertiser

RENOWNED for offering some of the least expensive cars on the market, Proton has just knocked more than a quarter off the price of its Satria supermini.

The capable little hot hatch, which boasts engineering by Lotus, tumbles in price from £9,995 to a record low of just £7,495.

This reduction of £2,500 equates to more than a quarter of the original price and is probably the biggest proportional reduction of any model since the credit crunch began.

There is a similar price cut for the automatic model, which comes down to £8,295 as the importer of the Malaysian-made cars attempts to arrest a sales decline of 66 per cent last month, taking the reduction for the year so far to more than 40 per cent.

The Satria Neo is a sporty supermini with a 110bhp 1.6-litre engine endowing the low-slung three-door hatchback with a 0-60mph acceleration time of 11.5 seconds and a 118mph top speed.

Despite the low price the car comes with climate control, audio controls on the steering wheel, electric windows and door mirrors plus reverse parking sensors and three years’ RAC cover. The automatic model also comes with cruise control and the only extra is metallic paint at £325.
