Among others, the statement listed out the conditions leading to the dismissal of a Prime Minister such as loss of two-thirds majority in Parliament, the setting up of a caretaker government, anti-defection law and the possibility of an anti-hopping law being drafted under the Emergency Ordinance.
The statement also claimed that the use of the ordinance is “justified because collapse of civil government is a form of emergency”.
When told about the statement, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak “dismissed” it.
“Who wrote this? The PM cannot be dismissed. Whatever happens has to be in the context of the Federal Constitution,” he said.
