Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi reminded all Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representatives to refrain from being arrogant and corrupt in discharging their duties as Members of Parliament and state assemblymen.
“It is hoped that the BN elected representatives will not allow themselves to be labelled as arrogant and corrupt,” he told reporters after a closed-door meeting with BN elected representatives and senators at the Putra World Trade Centre, here, Monday.
“They must rise to become elected representatives of integrity, their character unblemished by activities undesired by the people. They must serve their constituents with integrity,” said Abdullah, who is also BN Chairman.
These leaders must understand how important it was for them to work hard and with dedication as the elected representatives and refrain from succumbing to arrogance and corruption, he said.
He also said that the BN elected representatives must constantly monitor Federal Government projects and report stalled or abandoned projects to the respective Ministers for immediate rectification.
