MBPJ passes RM245 mil budget without consultation with residents

Petaling Jaya ratepayers are unhappy with the Petaling Jaya City Council’s (MBPJ) RM245mil budget for 2008. 
Residents believe the council could do a lot better, especially with such a large sum allocated towards staffing and management fees.

Is the MBPJ a business entity or is it into business? So, how come a company limited by shares and registered at the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) can use the MBPJ headquarters as its business address?

MBPJ’s parking revenue dropped after giving parking concession

Before it privatised its car parks in 1999, the city council was earning RM15mil a year from parking tickets.  Now, it is only receiving about RM7mil annually from concessionaire Godell Parking Sdn Bhd.

Food court converted to commercial complex

A company owned by a city councillor has “converted” what was supposed to be a food court into a commercial complex.
Johanjana Corporation Sdn Bhd, of which one of the three directors is Datuk Yahaya Bujang - an MBPJ councillor - is leasing retail space in the complex.

Was PJ billboard monopoly merely a proposal?

While negotiating the aborted controversial billboard privatisation
deal with Seni Jaya Sdn Bhd, the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) was
