He said he would be meeting fund managers during his trip to New York later this week to tell them of Malaysia’s good economic fundamentals and governance.

“It (the economy) is a good story to tell but is overshadowed by stories of political uncertainties given prominence by the press.”

The former Finance Minister (Tengku Razaleigh) also said foreign fund managers had recently told him they now rated Malaysia worse than the Philippines.

“They said they won’t be reviewing Malaysia’s position until six months from December. That’s frightening,” he said.
