RESIDENTS in Taman Kelab Ukay were surprised to see that a small piece of land, earmarked for development which is protested against, has been partially cleared without any notification.
“When Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) put up a notice board and sent us a letter calling for protests, if any, we responded within the time frame given.
“But MPAJ didn’t notify us on the commencement of work, which clearly has begun with the clearing of the land.”
“There is only one main road here and if they proceed with the proposed development, it is going to affect everyone in the surrounding area.”
He added that when they contacted the council, their reply was that they were not aware of the situation.
MPAJ acting public relations officer Khairil Azhar Ismail said it was the developer who had carried out the clearing of the land.
