It all seemed predictable a stop-work order, an investigation, followed by a definitive cry “no one is above the law”. But it is all in vain closing the stable doors after the horses have bolted.
So, as the illegal construction of the palatial mansion belonging to Klang councillor and Port Klang Assemblyman Datuk Zainal @ Zakaria Mat Deros and his wife Datin Zizah 
Ngah nears completion, the people in authority have finally decided to turn actors after sitting on the sidelines as silent spectators.
After doing little or nothing as a colossal breach of the law was taking place over 18 months, the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) and the state government have finally seen it fit to intervene.
Yesterday: » MPK president Abd Bakir Zin said the council would issue a stop-work order » Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo asked for a report from the MPK.
While Abd Bakir was more forthright by saying that no planning permission was given, Mohd Khir was evasive when asked what form action would be taken.
“Once I get the report, only then I will make a decision,” he said.
When told that MPK had confirmed no plans were submitted, Mohd Khir said: “I don’t know. I am still waiting for the report a black-and-white. I will give my opinion after I have read them all.”
On his action in the meantime, he said: “Actually, nobody is above the law, okay?”
